“Skin of My Father” explores themes of family culture, identity, and nostalgia. Inspired by childhood memories, Moreno’s paintings reflect the influence of her father’s pride in the family name and history. Moreno uses mark-making and stylistic references to express an honest appreciation for her upbringing in rural Texas.
